Συγκυρία

According to Stavropoulos, coincidence, conjunction, conjuncture, juncture.  στην παρούσα συγκυρία: at the present juncture.  This seems fine.  Notice that the sense of συγκυρία is more specific than some of the English terms  A few examples follow from the European parliament debates for 1996, where the English and the Greek are both translations of an original in another language, but where comparison of the two translations may be interesting.

...οφείλομε να οικοδομήσουμε την Ευρώπη και ... η παρούσα συγκυρία είναι η κατάλληλη Europe is for building and this is the time to do it.
... η κοινωνική συγκυρία ... ... the social context ...
... επωφελούμενοι από την πιο ευνοϊκή συγκυρία τιμών και εισοδημάτων των τελευταίων είκοσι χρόνων. taking advantage of the current state of prices and yields which are the healthiest for twenty years
 ... σε μια συγκυρία που ...  ... at a time when ...

As usual, we find a broader range of equivalences in the translations of texts than we do in the dictionary.  However close to or distant from the Greek you feel the English is, it has one virtue, that of sounding natural.
