Setting Web Permissions

This page describes how to set permissions on webs, to do this you need administrator access over the web that you wish to set permissions on. There are three levels of Permission that you can set see the table below for details

Permission	Level of Access
Browse	Users can view the web on the website. If a user does not have browse access then they will not be able to see any webpages within the web.
Author and Browse	Users can edit webpages and browse them. Most web authors have this setting.
Administer, Author and Browse	Users can author pages as with the above setting, but they may also create subwebs and change permissions for the web and subwebs.

Open the web that you wish to change permissions on.
Select Tools->Server->Permissions. See fig4.
You will presented with a new window as shown in fig5. Select Use unique permissions for this web and click Apply.
Click on the Users tab. See fig6.
Click Add to give a new user access to the web.
From the new popup, select the user from the left hand pane that you wish to give access to and click Add >>. Select the level of permissions that you wish to give that user (see the table above) and click Ok. See fig7.
You will see that the user has been added to the list of users with access. See Fig8.
If you wish to change the users level of access, select the user and click Edit, and then change the level of permission.
