BRACELETS AND OTHER ORNAMENTS FROM NEOLITHIC SERVIA

Many kinds of ornaments were made for use at Neolithic Servia, of shell and stone clay or bone. From the MN period shell brought from the coast was regularly use for bracelets (far right), beads and pendants (bottom centre).

Marble (above left) and clay (left) were also used for bracelets and beads (left and below).

Few neolithic burial sites are known and those that are known rarely have any objects or offerings placed in the grave with the body. For this reason we have little information about how the beads and other items of jewellery were actually worn.
